To me the real issue is one of trust: I'm just tired to being lied to by my government. And from what I've seen, McCalin/Palin are just more of Bush/Cheney when it comes to the truth: they will say whatever is convenient, whether it's the truth or not. There have already been so many times McCain & Palin have "stretched" the truth, gone back on what they said, didn't know (even on matters they're supposed to be experts on - eg McCain on the so-called Iraq/Pakistan border or whether Al-Queda is Shiite or Sunni - see http://www.thecarpetbaggerreport.com/archives/15836.html for a list).
Yes, you can be compassionate and say he was just confused, but even then, is a confused, senile old man really who we want as the next President? I just want our next President to be honest with us: in Obama I trust.
